Message from the Executive Principal
Welcome to Kingfisher Special School’s website, the only Primary School in Oldham for children with complex and severe learning needs – a place of learning. Kingfisher Special School is part of Kingfisher Learning Trust. We hope that the information provided gives you an insight into the practice and provision of the school and the values and vision that underpin our work. At the top of each page are the ‘Learning Links’ of the school to help you navigate your way around.
We continuously develop our provision with a clarity of expectation in terms of high aspirations for the children and underpinning rationales for what we do and why we do it. We put a lot of thought into how we can help children get ready for learning, supported by a clear vision and strong values-set to which we all sign up, and a collaborative ethos – working as a team across school and beyond in partnership with many professionals such as health colleagues.

Message from the Head of School
Can I extend the welcome to the website – I hope you all enjoy looking around the site and find it useful in gaining a clear insight into what we have to offer at Kingfisher Special School.
As Head of School it is my role to ensure that all pupils are ‘Safe, Happy Learners’. I have an overview of the whole school and its pupils and am the first point of contact for parents/carers who have any queries about their child’s learning or welfare. The safety of the children is a main priority at Kingfisher and as Safeguarding Lead it is my role to ensure that all pupils feel safe both at home and at school.
With the support of the school staff we endeavour to create optimum learning environments that match the learning needs of all pupils whilst offering an exciting, creative curriculum which allows the children to learn in the best way possible for them.
I would like to say a big thank you to parents and carers, past and present for their continued support for Kingfisher and I look forward to continuing forging relationships with you all.
