Middle Leadership Development
Designed to help aspiring middle leaders engage with the strategic development of the school, through the development of a project that will have a direct impact upon pupil outcomes within their school/department. The programme aims to introduce participants to leadership skills that will enable them to understand how they can influence others to drive the performance within their department.
The programme will provide participants with:
- An opportunity for reflection on their developing leadership style and how it impacts on those that they lead.
- An understanding of research that underpins good leadership.
- An opportunity for participants to share best practice, network and engage in peer coaching.
- An opportunity to focus in on the impact of their work on the performance of their department.
The programme will be a combination of face-to-face workshops, work based activity and coaching.
Participants would agree with their line manager a significant work based project to complete. This project will be used to both practice and assess new leadership behaviours.
The programme provides an opportunity to be coached, and undertake some coaching activity, through peer-to-peer support.
Participants are expected to engage with research and diagnostics to help them better understand themselves as a leader, and the impact that they have on others.
