ATIA Conference

As a Communication Friendly Setting we are always looking to keep up to date with new ideas and technology and develop our practice accordingly. That’s why myself and my colleague Kim Miller felt privileged to be offered a fully funded places at the ATIA 2021 conference in November 2020.

Alongside attending the conference we were also asked to become one of 24 “British Assistive Technology Scholars”.  As Scholars our impressions of the conference will be published on the atscholar.co.uk website and we may be asked to share our findings with the All Party Parliamentary Group for Assistive Technology (APPG_AT), the British Assistive Technology Association (BATA) and Communication Matters. Not only did we have the opportunity to attend a wide and varied range of sessions we also had the opportunity to network and develop links with many of the top AT specialists in the world!

Our next step will be to share what we have learnt and put some of this into practice to benefit both staff and children in school. We would like to thank Martin Littler, Inclusive Technology, HelpKidzLearn, and ATIA for offering us a fully funded place.
