At Kingfisher, we pride ourselves on our individual and creative approach to planning each child’s learning pathway. We adjust the curriculum and our teaching and learning strategies to meet the needs of every child rather than expecting the children to fit a standard curriculum model. The emphasis is on equipping the children with the skills they need for the future in a creative way which enables them to explore, develop and ultimately generalise their learning.
Kingfisher advocates Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural Development (SMSC) throughout every child’s Kingfisher journey. Every area of the childrens day at school promotes some area of SMSC be that playing with friends, sharing with others, exploring music and culture or meeting visitors from the community. Simply sharing the same space with others or demonstrating enjoyment in an activity are all ways in which we build on the elements of SMSC. Children feel valued through the personalised approaches we use and have opportunites to celebrate their successes with staff, parents and friends in many different ways.
